UFO Crashes & Sightings
Lincolnshire, UK Incident 2009
Locals are saying it was a UFO which crashed into the rotating blade. Many people saw strange lights in the sky only hours before the incident happened.
County Councillor, Robert Palmer claims to of seen a round white light with an orange edge, hovering beforehand. Another witness was driving in her car and saw lights moving across the sky. She then saw a low object skimming towards the Wind Farm. John Harrison saw a strange light with tentacles hanging towards the floor.
However Dr Peter Schubel from the University of Nottingham has a more rational explanation: He believes another nearby turbine could be the cause. With all the cold weather lately, Ice could of built up on the turbine and thrown a sheet of it across to the damaged one. All turbines have anti-icing systems on the blades and its possible one of them wasn't functioning properly.
Fraser McLachlan, Chief executive of G-Cube (a company which insures more than 25,000 turbines Worldwide) says although it is unusual, it actually happens 5 or 6 times per year. Although strange lights and UFO's are never seen beforehand.
Russell Kelkett of Flying Saucer Bureau says he has received a number of reports of strange lights in Northern England since New Years Day.
Ecotricity (the company for the Wind Turbines) said they have never seen anything like this before. A Spokeswoman says "We're conducting a thorough investigation into what happened" - "This kind of thing has never happened to us before". (What was that the other company said about 5 or 6 times a year?)
A Spokeswoman for the RAF in Scampton (home of the Red Arrows) said there were no flights that weekend. It was also said that the MoD aren't looking into the incident: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorized military activity. Unless there’s evidence of a potential threat, there’s no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."
However Nick Pope (who used to work for the MoD says: "There's a public safety issue here, whatever you believe about UFOs. The Ministry of Defense's standard line on UFOs isn't good enough. The MOD and the Civil Aviation Authority need to investigate as a matter of urgency." He also admits: "This is a really bizarre case. What's particularly exciting is that because there's been a collision, there will be residue of the object involved.
An insider to the MoD says the strange object could in fact be a secret unmanned Stealth Bomber called Taranis (named after the Celtic God of Thunder). Its the same size as the Hawk Jet and has an autonomous artificial intelligence system. It was also on a test flight nearby on the coastal bombing ranges at Donna Nook and North Coates in Lincolnshire.
Tests came back a few weeks later to show classic signs of 'fatigue failure'. Although the bolts had shown no flaws, it seems a component part on either side had 'induced stress' beyond there design limits. The flashing lights were also thought to be flying lanterns from a nearby birthday celebration.
Cardiff, Wales Incident 2008
However Cardiff actually got their very own 'Torchwood Incident'. A group of South Wales police officers were in a Helicopter at 500ft, waiting to land in the Ministry of Defense, St Athen Base. Suddenly they spotted a UFO speeding towards them and had to swerve away from it. They confirmed that if they had not of moved out of the way they would all be dead. The UFO was seen heading towards the Bristol Channel, so the Helicopter gave chase but had to turn back as they were running low on fuel.
The UFO was described as Saucer shaped with flashing lights all around it. Although it could be seen by the naked eye, it was invisible with Night Vision Goggles.
Some people have joked or wondered if it has anything to do with the show, however Season 3 does not start filming until August. This sighting (as well as the increasing number of others) has got a lot of people very excited although others fear an Alien Invasion is on the way.
Explanation
A newly married couple were on their Honeymoon to Turkey when they saw reports in Cardiff of a UFO. They are convinced that what the Helicopter crew saw was actually 1 of 30 lanterns which had been set off after the wedding. The lanterns were lit and set off at Cowbridge and floated toward St Athens. The lanterns had been set off at around the same time as the sightings started. The couple commented "I can see how they'd look like UFOs. They are about 2ft 6in (0.79m) high and are paper lanterns with a wax ball underneath. "You light them and they inflate and float off - exactly the same principle as a hot air balloon" "You can't judge their size [in the air] because they're so bright. They just look like a big ball of light. When you light them they just go up and up and up." "Strangely enough we saw them in Glastonbury last year and sat there for hours trying to work out what they were."
I personally don't think a Flying Lantern would dive at a Helicopter or that it couldn't be seen through Night Vision. The South Wales Police have now denied ever chasing the 'UFO'. Is this another misunderstanding or a Cover-Up?
The Kalahari Incident 1989
The Squadron leader reported several blinding flashes which emanated from the object. The UFO started to waver while heading in a northern direction. The object was reported to be decreasing in altitude at a rate of 3000 feet per minute. It then carried on at an angle of 25 degrees and impacted the desert, 80km north of the South African border in the central Kalahari desert.
A Squadron leader was ordered to circle the impacted area until retrieval of the UFO was complete. A team of air force officers and medical technical staff were taken to the impacted site ready to investigate.
They found a crater of 150 meters in diameter and 12 meters deep. The object was your typical UFO, silver and disk shaped. It was 20 yards in length, 9.5 yards high and weighed around 50,000 kilograms. It was embedded into the ground at a 45 degrees angle. All around the UFO, sand and rock were fused together from the intense heat of the object. There was a strong magnetic and radio-active area around the object. This caused the air force's electronic equipment to fail.
A team leader suggested that the object be moved to a 'classified' air force base for further investigation. The impacted hole in the dessert was filled with sand and rubble to disguise it had ever been there.
Once inside the object, two humanoid entities were found. They were 4.5 feet high. Their skin was smooth, completely hairless and greyish blue in skin color. They had over sized heads and slanted eyes. Their chest was covered in scaly ribbed skin. It's amazing these creatures were still alive even after the crash. However they were found to be aggressive and would not let the doctor take blood or skin samples. They left scratch marks on the doctors face and chest when an attempt was made. When offered food, they refused to eat it.
Colares, Brazil Incident 1977
Dr Wellaide Cecim Carvalho was a witness of this incident and was struck by a beam herself. However she didn’t suffer with any problems. She also cared for the other victims and made medical tests. She found the citizens to be suffering from fatigue, dizziness, headaches, low blood pressure and anaemia. Some even had burn marks where the beams of radiation had hit them. Small puncture marks were also left within the burn along with permanent hair loss in that area. Dr Carvalho examined 35 patients in total; two of which died.
The Brazilian government sent out a team named ‘Operation Saucer’ to investigate. Files were later made classified. In May 2004, high ranking generals from the Brazilian Air Force met with a group of ufologists and released a number of the ‘Operation Saucer’ documents for examination. According to these documents, the military took photographs of UFO’s, interviewed witnesses and witnessed sightings themselves. They also admitted to studying UFO’s since 1954.
Sailsbury, South Africa Incident 1974
While Peter was driving, he thought he saw a man on the side of the road, who then vanished.
At 02:30 that morning, Frances saw a light to the left of the car. It seemed to be keeping pace with them. The car lights suddenly began to fade while the rest of the electrical equipment, including the radio was completely unaffected. The light which was to Frances left was very bright and could cast shadows on things around them. Peter and Frances felt very cold and wrapped themselves in coats and blankets.
Peter was driving his car very fast, between 87-93 miles per hour. When he eased his foot from the accelerator, nothing happened. The car continued on its path at full speed and Peter had no control of the brakes or steering.
Peter regained control of the vehicle just north of Port Victoria where he stopped for gas at 04:30am. He then continued on the journey, heading for the Beit Bridge over the Limpopo River. While on their drive, the couple found the landscape including the low bushes, high grasses, marshes and swamps very unfamiliar. The road from Fort Victoria to Beit Bridge is also a very curvy and twisting road, whereas the one they were currently on was perfectly straight.
Peter again lost control of the car and was speeding at 125 miles per hour. When they reached the South African border, Peter and Frances were surprised to find that it was 08:30am. Their watches and car clock read 07:30am ….. Where had 1 hour gone?
The drive from Fort Victoria to the Beit Brdge is 228 kilometers. After driving that far, the tank should have been almost empty, whereas it was completely full. Peter also had four very worn tires on his car. He had planned on buying some really cheap ones when he arrived at his destination. However, when checking the tires again they had been replaced by four brand new Michelin steel-belted radial tires. He couldn’t remember ever changing them along the way.
The couple later underwent hypnotic regression and told of an alien being “beamed into the backseat of the car. The car was then levitated into a large, silver-grey saucer. Peter was taken to Sickbay, where he was given a medical examination. He saw his wife with several other people who were all in a trance. While on the UFO, he saw his car which was between two silver disks. The hood was up and three or four large headed beings were giving the engine a tune-up.
Berwyn Mountain Incident 1974
On the 23rd January 1974, in the Berwyn Mountains, Llandrillo, Merionethshire, North Wales, there were reports of a crashed spaceship. It was 6:45pm on a Friday night when a tremor reaching 3.5 on the richter scale was felt. This was followed by bright colored lights in the sky. Within one hour, ten officers arrived to search the area. They were shortly joined by RAF mountain rescue teams. Nothing was found and the search was called off at 2pm the next day.
Even though the search was called off, there were reports of Alien Bodies being found and covered up by the Government. Its thought that the bodies were transferred to Wiltshire Research Base in Porton Down. There were also reports that there was unusual Military Activity weeks after the incident had occurred and visits to the village by men in black.
Skeptics say the event was a combination of Meteor Showers, Earthquakes and Poachers Lanterns (It was confirmed by one poacher that they had all left the scene before the incident had began). This is the second most famous incident in the United Kingdom and is called the Welsh Roswell - The first most popular being the Rendleham Incident.
Shag Harbor Incident 1967
The Navy was called in to search the area. This continued for the next few days along with the Coast Guard and RCMP. Divers were then sent out to search the bottom of the ocaen for several more days, but unfortunatly didn't find anything unusual.
However as with most UFO cases, not all was as it seemed. Suposidly the object which crashed into the ocean, then travelled 25 miles under water to somwhere called Government Point. Government Point is a submarine detection base. The object was spotted on sonar and Naval vessels were positioned over it. Over the next few days, the military had planned on salvaging the object, but a second UFO joined the first. Its thought that the second object had arrived to help the first. The Navy waited and watched for about a week, monitoring the two UFO's. After which time, the UFO's raced unde water to the Gulf of Maine. They then broke the surface and shot away into the sky. Unfortunataly, the above paragraph was given by witnesses off the record, so theres very little proof that this part actually happened.
If you're ever in the Nova Scotia area, there is a Museum and Research Centre dedicated to the Shag Harbour Incident - Technically its just a backyard shed, but its filled with pleanty of newspaper clippings and other related things to keep you interested.
It was opened to the public on the 22nd June 2007 by Cindy and Dale Nickerson (not related).
In 2008, the first Shag Harbour Incident festival was organised. This continues each year and has included speakers such as Stanton Freidman and Cart Feindt.
Warminster Thing 1964
On the 25th December 1964, a number of Residents from Warminster, West Wiltshire, heard a number of strange Loud and Unidentifiable sounds. The first report was from Mildred Head: "Our ceiling, came alive with strange sounds that lashed at our roof." She said it sounded as though twigs or leaves were being dragged across the roof which quickly changed and sounded like Giant Hailstones. She loooked out of her window and didn't see anything, but heard a humming sound which grew louder and then faded away.
Later that Christmas morning, over 30 soldiers at Knook Camp, woke to a loud noise. They said it sounded like a huge chimney stack being ripped from a roof.
The 3rd encounter was at 6:12am Christmas morning. Mrs Marjorie Bye was walking to Christ Church in Warminster. She suddenly felt vibrations in the air. Then she felt a strange force pounding her head and shoulders which pinned her down. At the same time, Roger Rump also heard the same sounds and again described the sound as Roof Tiles being pulled off the house.
On the 17th August 1965 there was a loud explosion which shook the houses along Boreham Field housing estate. David Pinnel ran outside to see what the noise was and found a huge Bulb shaped flame in the sky. It disappeared and then returened again as a ball of smoke with a yellow core which floated from the hills, and crackled and hissed whenever it touched the grass and trees.
At first this strange sound had not been considered a UFO, but a weird, unexplained phenomenon of some other kind. It got the name 'Thing' because at first nobody had actually seen it, they'd only ever heard it. However when it finally was seen by witnesses, it was normally described as a ball of light with smoke or clouds surrounding it. It would also give off sparks of light. Warminster Journalist, Arhur Shuttle was extreamly interested in this incident and made the story known worldwide. In 1967 he wrote a book called 'The Warminster Mystery'. The Warminster Thing was most regularly seen between 1965 and 1977, but it is still often seen today.
Strange things can still occasionally be seen near Warminster today. Popular places to look are Cley Hill and Cradle Hill, roughly 3-4 miles from Warminster. Occasionally people loose track of time, having no idea where it went. Some people feel incredible afew walking along the hills and others feel drained. Cradle Hill is near a 25 by 10 miles weapons range (which I couldnt find on google maps). People often get a visit from the Army, asking what they are doing around the area ..... most get left alone but some get asked to move along ..... You are breaking no rules by being there as apparentally the army don't own the land outside of the base. A six part documentary has been filmed and released onto youtube which is quite interesting to watch. It shows a small, round, white object hovering in the sky for a moment and then vanishing.
Myself and a member of my family also saw something simular to this in Kidderminster, United Kingdom. As I had seen these video's previously I knew exactly what it was. It was later seen in Bromyard, West Midlands. According to a source, they also saw something simular afew yers ago in London ..... Moments later it was chased by unmarked, black helicopters.
Something strange has been happening in Warminster for years ..... What are these strange things in the sky?
Las Vegas Incident 1962
On the 18th April 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada, an Unidentified Flying Object was spotted in the sky by thousands of witnesses in several different states. The object was picked up on radar and the Air Defense Command contacted a number of bases including Nellis in Las Vegas. According to writer Frank Edwards, an object was spotted over Oneida, New York, heading west. There were reports from people in Kansas, Colorado and Eurika too. At one point the UFO came down near Eureka, Utah. It inturupted an electrical service from a power plant near by and took off again afew mintues later. This glowing red ball was bright enough that it later lit up the streets of Reno, Nevada like day light. It then turned towards Las Vegas, throwing a series of explosions into the sky. It is here (Las Vegas) that it later crashed.
Sheriff deputy Walter Bun was in charge of leading the search and rescue unit. The team were sent to the Spring Mountain area to search for te UFO. They searched throughout the night and then for part of the next day but found noting important. They did find some ashy remains, but these could of been from a campfire. When no report was made for a crashed or missing aircraft, the search was called off.
The following day (19th April 1962), the Las Vegas Sun newspaper printed a story about this strange object along with witness reports. Again it was described by witnesses as a bright red flame. It was also reported in the Los Angele's Times at a later date.
The official story from the Air force is that the object was a meteor which was bright enough to light the streets around it. However this natural phenomenon is very rare and so seems unlikely. If you check the released 'Project blue-book' files, it is apparently listed that a meteor was spotted in the sky on 18th April 1962. The report stated "Object came in over Cuba and apparently landed in rough terrain West of Eureka, Utah. Bright enough to trip photo electric cell which controlled city street lights." Noting the explanation is "Astro, probably meteor".
Some of the reports from witnesses in the book are stated as follows:
"A series of explosions after the object was gone and a trail of gray smoke".
" The object was a glowing ball of light about the size of a soccer ball. It was white with a yellowish tint and a bright yellow jagged flame coming from the rear. As the object passed over Robinson, Utah, it slowed down in the air, and after, a gasping sound was heard, the object spurted ahead again. After this procedure was repeated three or four times, the object arched over and began descending to earth after which the object turned bluish color and then burned out or went dark. After the object began to slow down it began to wobble in its path".
"I was on Main Street and "heard kind of a roar."I glanced up and saw a yellow-white flame going west, heard a series of loud booms, and saw all the lights in Nephi go out temporarily".
"A bright light in the sky that lit the ground like the sun". This witness thought it was a meteor.
"The two of us were out in the fields ... there were no lights so we were in total darkness. It was a very bright light".
"I looked up in time to see the ball of fire and thought that it was something from New Mexico's White Sands Missile Range. It was a bright light that was mostly blue and it seemed to explode right over him, throwing off a cloud of white sparks".
Something was seen in the sky in 1962. Was it a meteor or something more strange??
